Washington (SmartAboutHealth) - According to a new study, stem cells may actually be able to repair heart and bone damage faster than usual.

The study was carried out by researchers from Imperial College London to see if stem cells could help repair your body.

What they found was that stem cells were released from bone marrow at extremely high rates.

These high rates of release sped up the process of repairing the body in terms of both heart and bone damage.

By increasing the rate at which stem cells are released, tissue can be regenerated at a faster rate.

Though human trials remain years away, this could be a sign of the future in terms of repairing our bodies.

The study has been published in the journal Cell Stem Cell.
