Omnitek Engineering, Corp. (OMTK.PK) today reports record results for the 3rd quarter of fiscal 2008, ending September 30, 2008.
Revenue for the three months increased to $1,175,171 from $334,064 for the same period in 2007. Profit was $31,641 compared to a loss of $26,757 for the same period in 2007.
Revenue for the first nine months of fiscal 2008 increased to $2,673,449 from $678,446 for the same 9 month period in 2007.
At the close of the third quarter FY08 the company's backlog of firm orders was at approximately $663,000.
Omnitek’s CEO, Werner Funk, reports, “We are happy to report another record quarter. As expected, sales of our industry leading diesel-to-natural gas conversion system accounted for most of sales. In the month to come we will introduce several new products, which should help to increase sales and our bottom line even further.”

Revenue for the three months increased to $961,102, from $205,799 for the same period in 2007.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were $156,488 for the second quarter of FY08 compared to a loss of $ 42,752 for the same period in 2007.
Backlog
At the close of the second quarter FY08 the company's backlog of firm orders was $1.1 million, compared to $42,000 for the comparable period in 2007.

Omnitek Engineering, Corp. (OMTK.PK) Receives Patent for Key Natural Gas Technology -
Omnitek reports the receipt of Notice of Allowance from the United States Patent Office for a key technology, essential for achieving ultra-low emission levels with natural gas engines.
The Omnitek Fuel Mixing Apparatus has been applied on engines of various sizes with expected superior results. One engine equipped with this technology has already received EPA and CARB emission certifications.
The technology greatly improves air/gas mixture formation. The resulting complete combustion greatly reduces emissions and increases fuel economy.
Omnitek plans to make this technology available to other engine manufacturers, such as Cummins, Volvo, Isuzu and Mercedes, in an effort to support the fight to lower air pollution and combat global warming.

Sales for the quarter were $537,176, up from $138,584 for the comparable quarter in 2007.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) were $13,114 for the first quarter of FY08 compared to a loss of $87,391 for the same quarter last year.
Backlog
At the close of first quarter FY08 the company's backlog of firm orders grew to $1.35 million, compared to $39,000 for the comparable quarter in 2007.

Omnitek Engineering, Corp. (OMTK.PK) Accelerates Position To Benefit From $ 2 Billion Subsidy Program -
At a special meeting on Feb. 19, 2008, the Long Beach Board of Harbor Commissioners voted to approve a plan calling for replacement of at least half of the 16,800 old port drayage diesel trucks with trucks powered by clean alternative fuels -- specifically natural gas or other alternative fuels that perform better than 2007 emission standards. The Commissioners further finalized a $2 billion subsidy program to finance the lease or purchase of clean trucks or engines. Under the plan, only "clean" trucks will be allowed to work at the Port of Long Beach. One of the provisions calls for a one-time grant of up to $ 20,000 towards the purchase of retrofit equipment for model year 1994 to 2003 trucks in 2008 and 2009.
Reacting to the move, Omnitek Engineering, Corp. has initiated the process of certifying one of its engines to the required emissions standard. The engine will be able to operate using liquefied natural gas (LNG), or compressed natural gas (CNG) and can be used to retrofit old diesel trucks.
Werner Funk, CEO of Omnitek, states, “We are not trying to force the truck operators into any one technology, so we will equip our certified engines so they can be operated using LNG or CNG. This puts us in direct competition with engine maker Cummins Westport.”

The value of this order is reported to exceed $ 1,200,000. The first lot is scheduled for delivery immediately, with further shipments evenly spaced over the next six month. The Company forecasts sales in Thailand alone to top 2,000 conversion kits in 2008.

Omnitek Engineering, Corp. (OMTK.PK) and Omnitek Engineering Thailand Co. Ltd., have entered into a joint venture agreement in Thailand to sell Omnitek’s proprietary diesel-to–natural gas engine conversion kits and new natural gas engines used to repower existing diesel trucks and buses. Omnitek reports a 15% interest in the JV.
Omnitek is a global leader in the alternative fuels industry. Omnitek develops and supplies new natural gas engines and a proprietary technology which converts diesel engines to operate on natural gas, propane or hydrogen.
The JV will purchase conversion kits and new natural gas engines from Omnitek and sell them to fleet owners in Thailand. Omnitek will offer training to the fleets to allow them to convert their own diesel engines to natural gas in their own workshop. Werner Funk, CEO of Omnitek, reports, ”Previously, the vehicles had to be delivered to conversion workshops to perform the transformation from a diesel engine to a naturals gas engine. As a result of the limited workshops in Thailand, only a small amount of vehicles could be converted every month. Allowing the fleet maintenance garages to perform their own conversions, assisted by technicians from Omnitek Thailand, will greatly accelerate the conversion process.” Omnitek estimates that with this arrangement up to 5,000 engines can be converted per year. Omnitek Engineering, Corp. and CYT Gas Tech Co. Ltd. enter into exclusive Agreement
Omnitek Engineering, Corp. ("Omnitek" or the "Company") today announced the signing of a Business Representative Agreement to appoint CYT Gas Tech Co. Ltd. (“CGT”) the exclusive Omnitek natural gas engine warranty and engine parts distribution center for Thailand, as well as a non-exclusive dealer for Omnitek’s CNG engines.
Werner Funk, CEO of Omnitek, says, "We believe our relationship with CGT offers Omnitek the opportunity to establish broader sales penetration of natural gas engines in Thailand and offers customers a level of comfort that service and warranty tasks are performed promptly and by Omnitek authorized and trained service personnel.” Mr. Funk continues, "Thailand is an important market for Omnitek. CGT already provides services to natural gas fleets in Thailand, and has been servicing Omnitek’s natural gas engines and products in their facility in Bangkok.
Thailand is a dynamic and rapidly expanding natural gas vehicle market. Thailand's leading energy supplier, PTT Public Company Ltd ("PTT"), has been at the forefront of Thailand's natural gas vehicle programs. PTT is responsible for granting low-interest loans to fleet operators to fund the conversion of diesel engines to natural gas, or to buy engines to repower vehicles.

Omnitek Re-powers Container Handling UTR at Bangkok Sea Port - Omnitek reports the commencement of a re-powering project at the Bangkok Laem Chabang Sea Port.
The first two UTR container-handling vehicles, owned by LCB1 Ltd., were recently put into service. The Cummins 5.9 Liter engines were replaced with Omnitek 5.8 Liter CNG engines. The engine of a third UTR is currently being converted from diesel to CNG. A short evaluation period will determine the economics and feasibility of converting or re-powering. LCB1 Ltd. operates approximately 200 UTRs at the Bangkok port.
The fact that the Thai gas supplier PTT has installed CNG refueling infrastructure at the sea port, has encouraged many fleet operators to consider converting or re-powering their diesel vehicles to CNG. Switching from diesel to natural gas can result in 30% to 50% savings in fuel and maintenance costs.(UTR)

Carburation and Ignition Management System (CIMS) for 8-Cylinder Engines - Omnitek is now offering the Carburation and Ignition Management System (CIMS) for 8-cylinder engines. It was specifically designed for Diesel-to-Natural Gas conversions and features an integrated ignition and carburetion control system to manage the closed-loop gas metering and ignition timing for highest engine power and lowest fuel consumption and emissions.
Primary applications are 8-cylinder power-generators, but the reliable and robust system can also easily be integrated into retrofit and OEM truck applications.
The CIMS features enhanced closed-loop fuel control for lowest emissions and fuel consumption. The CIMS features a switch selectable 2nd ignition map for low-grade fuel applications. Omnitek is happy to report that one of it’s 200 horsepower natural gas engines has completed a 50,000 km demonstration project in Thailand and has surpassed all expectations. The 8-month project resulted in an average savings to the operator of 63% in fuel costs alone. Maintenance costs were also lower when compared to a diesel engine. The vehicle was a cement truck, covering about 400 to 500 km every day.
Local support came from the Omnitek representative in Thailand, E2E Co.,Ltd., who was also responsible for system integration and scheduled maintenance for the engine.
The 6-cylinder Perkins based 5.8 liter Omnitek CNG engine is equipped with Omnitek’s advanced engine management system, which features electronic fuel injection, closed-loop mixture control and six individual ignition coils.
E2E and Omnitek are currently preparing to put an additional 200 engines into service before yearend. (view report here)

Omnitek and Dalian Diesel Engine Factory, a Division of the FAW Group, China’s largest vehicle and engine manufacturer, are conversing regarding cooperation in the commercialization of a Omnitek developed natural gas engine. The 6.6 Liter engine will be manufactured in Dalian and is based on a diesel engine currently in production.
The production-ready engine was delivered to China and will be displayed on the Omnitek booth at the upcoming Trade Exhibition “ENGINE CHINA 2006” - THE 7TH INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION ON INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE (April 20 to 23, 2006, Beijing).
The lean-burn 240 hp engine will undergo testing in China to the EURO III Standard and will be available for sale midyear. Preorders will be accepted now.
The engine features electronic throttle, lean-burn, knock sensing, individual ignition coils and electronic fuel injection. A 280 hp, 7.2 Liter engine will be available late in the year and will also be produced in Dalian

Omnitek receives US patent for an advance diesel dual-fuel (DDF) conversion system. The Omnitek DDF System can be used to convert high polluting diesel engines to operate with a mixture of diesel and natural gas, without any internal mechanical changes to the engine. The mixture of diesel to natural gas can be up to 40% diesel and 60% NG.
By installing the DDF System, great savings in fuel costs can be achieved. The Omnitek DDF system costs less than traditional engine conversions and can be applied to small as well as large engines.

Omnitek delivers first dedicated natural gas engines to Thailand. Together with the local partner SAS Tech Solution Co., LTD., Bangkok, Omnitek will supply engines to bus and fleet operators. It is expected that up to 200 engines will be delivered by the end of the year.

Omnitek signs MoU's with stakeholders in Bangkok to convert diesel buses to CNG. Omnitek will development 3 engines that can be used in about 2000 buses operating in Bangkok.
The local partner for the project is SAS Tech Solution Co., LTD., Bangkok. Thailand's energy supplier, PTT Thailand, which currently operates 29 CNG stations servicing almost 5,000 vehicles, will supply CNG cylinders and some financial support for the program.

Omnitek concludes delivery of first 500 conversion kits for Myanmar. In a cooperative effort with Altenergy India LTD, New Delhi, Omnitek has contracts to supply a total of 1200 kits to convert diesel buses to natural gas to Myanmar. Myanmar has one of the larges natural gas reserves and is planning to convert up to 5000 buses and delivery trucks to natural gas.

The Government of Bangladesh has mandated that the heavy polluting diesel engines in most city buses be converted to operate on clean-burning and locally sourced natural gas.
