kite: Intel's Anti Theft Technology (Danbury) - edited
So, let's take this apart...
Intel's Anti Theft Technology (Danbury) allows to erase or back-up hard disk data to a corporate server. This data rests on FDE drives.
The responsibility of erasing or backing up data remotely MUST lie with the OWNER of the PCs. And the OWNER of the PCs can only be each individual enterprise.
So, each enterprise needs to be able to address the various brands of FDE drives (Seageate, Mitsubishi, Hitachi, Samsung...) as well as the various brands of TPMs via central management server tool.
The "secret sauce" in using Intél's Anti Theft Technology (Danbury) lies with strong authentication of the platform and must be client device independent.
ERAS comes to mind.... ERAS provides the entire gamut of device management.... be it FDE drives and/or TPMs... and the tool to enforce NAC policies using EEE. Combine this with the necessity to Interface to the Intel Anti Theft (encryption) Technology on a very low systems level appears to be instrumental.
