Monday March 31, 9:00 am ET

INDIANAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Interactive Intelligence (Nasdaq: ININ - News), a global provider of unified IP business communications solutions, has hired Bill Gildea as its vice president of business development.

Gildea will be responsible for evaluating acquisition opportunities and for developing new partnerships designed to increase the company’s revenue and growth. These partnerships are focused on development, marketing, and distribution agreements, including those designed to further penetrate vertical markets.

Gildea has 15 years of combined experience as a financial analyst and attorney specializing in the communications industry.

“As a former sell-side financial analyst I received constant positive feedback from Interactive Intelligence resellers and customers about the unique benefits of the company’s innovative software platform,” Gildea said. “This feedback, combined with the continuity of the company’s senior management team, convinced me that I wanted to be a part of Interactive’s ongoing success.”

“Today’s dynamic business environment means that sometimes it’s best to partner with other companies to penetrate a market faster and more effectively,” said Interactive Intelligence founder and CEO, Dr. Donald E. Brown. “Bill’s financial and legal expertise within the communications industry gives him an ideal big-picture perspective for pursuing the right strategic opportunities for our company.”

Prior to joining Interactive Intelligence in March, Gildea was an equity research analyst covering the communications technology industry at Janney Montgomery Scott. Prior to that Gildea was an associate analyst at Wachovia Securities. Gildea began his career as a communications attorney in private practice in Washington, D.C.

Gildea received his bachelor’s degree from the College of William and Mary, and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of North Carolina. He received his juris doctor’s degree from Catholic University.
