chunga1 -- not so fast --

After all the years of illegal detention, harsh treatment, and denial of access to attorneys -- FACT

the Bush regime has come up with 14 cases -- I believe that's the correct number -- FACT -- not even 2%, not even 1 in 50, of the 775 we know have been held at Gitmo ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guantanamo_Bay_detention_camp ) have ever been charged with anything

and they are probably fabricated -- a statement of a belief more than an opinion; would be an opinion as such if he'd actually seen the charges and the proferred proofs (if any) and then said 'I think these cases are fabricated' -- but fair enough -- OPINION, more accurately a statement of a belief rather than of a known fact -- and I would add, in my opinion a statement of a very reasonable belief in the actual real context -- e.g. Padilla ([items linked in] http://investorshub.advfn.com/boards/read_msg.asp?message_id=22111034 and the many preceding and following)

In other words, it is Waco all over again -- no arguing this one -- OPINION -- apart only from the vaguest, broadest notion of abuse of executive power, which obviously is the level at which he intended this remark, all I can say is 'not really' -- totally different contexts in their respective particulars, in their respective particulars really not alike -- but in terms of what Roberts is saying, just a throwaway comment, does not indicate any lack of factual basis for what he's saying

Many members [of the Federalist Society] mistakenly think that the society stands for “original intent,” but as their real interest is career-driven, they don’t pay much attention to the society’s assault on the US Constitution. -- FACT

the point Roberts was making in that piece is thoroughly grounded in fact, and is in fact correct, and easily withstands your challenge that it's just opinion not supported by fact
