MSRM share sale Warning, suggestions required.
Hi, I was contacted by J Rowan Associates (Atlanta US), who 'has a client' interested in buying my 25000 shares in MSRM that I had purchased via Anglo American Asset Management in Oct 2006. I was told to submit $12500.00, so that the restrictions can be lifted from my certificate and on this happening, that I shall receive $89037.50 [with return of my $12500.00 included in the figure]. They initially gave me instructions to transfer this sum into the US, but my bank [HSBC] advised me against this transfer, as according to them the money would have been relayed back out of the US into FCIB [a Carri bean bank]. I asked for an Escrow agent based in the US and they gave me different transfer instructions, after transferring the money in mid July 2007, the transaction was to take 7-10 days, 2 months had past, nothing. They tell me that they hadn't received the money, I asked HSBC to investigate and recall the money, initially they found it difficult to contact the receiving bank, when they did, they were told that the money had been 'frozen' due to the O'FAC regulations. We again tried to recall the money without luck, earlier this month [Oct 2007] I was told by HSBC that the money cannot now be recalled as it has been paid into its original destination and the account closed. I contacted J Rowan Associates to tell them that they have the money, they reject that their Escrow agent has received the money.
I initially hesitated with this transaction, J Rowan had been continuously contacting and putting pressure on me to go ahead with this transaction, now its difficult to speak to them as the only person who has and can deal with me is always in meetings or away from the office [he had plenty of time before the transfer], no one else can help. Is there anyone else in a similar predicament? I would be greatfull for any suggestions [law enforcement agencies to contact] and even to hear from anyone if they have received their money from J Rowan or other companies.
