The Twilight Zone (The Series and Movies)

I'm trying to recall/research this...I believe the original series aired from 1959-1964.

CBS purchased a teleplay by Rod in 1957, but it did not meet "network standards". A new producer at Westinghoude/Desilu aired it in late 1958.
Viewers & critics loved it, and the series was born in early 1959.

The original show, The Time Element, is rarely aired on TV.

I believe this is the accurate account...corrections or additions welcomed.
