[F6 comment -- also tying in to this, of course, are the whole 'net neutrality' issue, the NSA/et al 'black rooms' at major net hubs, the ongoing imposition of ever-broader data-retention 'requests'/requirements on ISPs/similar, the (corresponding and broader in scope) already unprecedented and still accelerating aggregation and integration by both government and ('private') (. . .) business of vast databases filled with all kinds of information about every damned last one of us, and the parallel ongoing development and implementation of 'data mining' software and techniques, all in the context of and indeed feeding off the information flow from the ongoing implementation of what is rapidly becoming our absolutely pervasive, never-blinking and never-forgetting real-time surveillance state (including as in 'state of reality' and 'state of being') -- a piece such as the above is exactly what the tip of the sword of an expanded propaganda campaign for imposing openly-declared government control over internet content might look like (various neo-cons and other neo-fascist hacks having been openly calling for same for some time now) -- and precisely as the importance of the internet grows, so presumably grows the chance that those who most certainly would like to throttle the internet (and who clearly do intend to do so at some point if and as they can) will begin to engage -- . . .]
