Sounds good Capt.,
Time for a sing-a-long?
A long, long ... time ago
I can still remember, how the markets used to make me smile.
And I knew if I had my chance, that I could make my broker dance
And maybe make some money, for a while.
But February made me shiver, knowing Wall Street can't deliver
Bad news on the rates step, raise it just one more step
I can't remember if I cried, when interest rates got circumcised
Something touched me deep inside, the day, the markets died
So why, why, did my portfolio die
Took my money called me honey now you hang me to dry
Them Wall Street boys were pushing stocks way to high.
"Singing"
"This will be the day that we fly"
"This will be the day that we lie"
Did you buy the stocks you love
Did you set stops on the stocks above
Every body tells you so ...
Do you believe in IPO's, can Wall Street save your, portfolio
And can you teach me how to buy ... real low
Well I know that your in debt with them
Cause I saw your port its looking grim
I know you paid your dues
Are all your stocks, having the blues
You were a long term trader with buck
With a share of this and a half filled cup
But I knew you were out of luck, the day ... the markets died.
I started singing ...
Bye, bye, my portfolio's dry
Rode my stocks on to the top, now Im hitching a ride
Them good old boys took my money and lied
"Singing" ...
"This will be the day that we fly"
"This will be the day that we lie."
Now for 10 years I traded on my own
Lost so much cash, I now need loan
But that's not how it used to be
When they know your just a human being
And you'll have to repay, Dane & Dean
With cash, that will come from you and me
Oh .. while all my funds were look down
My broker turned in to a clown
The markets were adjourned
No money was returned
And while traders feed like hungry sharks
The smart investors toured the park
We started trading in the dark
the day, the markets died
We were singing ...
Bye, bye, Mr. NASDAQ and DOW,
Drove my stocks up, took my money, now you run off to hide.
Them good OLE boys drank my bud, ate my rye,
"Singing
"This will be the day that we fly"
"This will be the day that we lie"
Welter smelter in the summer swelter
The bids fell off, run for some shelter
Eight miles high and falling fast ...
We landed proudly on our ass
The markets tried for a forward pass
But the feds just stood on the side lines in a cast
Now the traders dashed out of the room
while the futures played a marching tune
We all got up to glance
To watch them brokers dance
Cause the Fed they tried to take the field
The traders bought, they refused to yield
Do you recall what was the yield
The day, the markets died
"We started singing"
Buy, Buy, this whole market is dry
Drove them stock down good and plenty
Use your penny and buy
Them good OLE boys drank my whiskey and rye
Singing
"This will be the day that we fly"
"This will be the day that we lie"
Oohh ... Is this the place it forms a base
Or are we lost, in outer space
With no funds left to start again
So come on, start to nibble start to pick
Buy your stocks while the markets sick
Cause, buyers wait around the bend
As I watch them turn the page
And Greenie stepped off of the stage
No Angel born in ####
Could make me start to sell
And as the rates climbed high, without a right
To run us off without a fight
I saw Alan laughing with delight
The day, the markets ... died
"We were singing
Bye, bye, Mr. Greenspan good bye
Drove me crazy, called me lazy, so you thought I would die
Them Federal boys hung my stocks out to dry
Singing this would be the day that we die
"This would be the day that you cry"
I read a chart that gave me clues
And I asked you why, you have the blues
The Feds just smiled and turned away
Ive been down this road before
Ive seen these charts, years before
But the market makers weren't, ready to play
On the Street the traders scream
The shorter cried, we picked up steam
But not a word was spoken
On which stocks they were holding
And the two markets I admired most
The Nas, the Dow, where left for toast
They caught the last train with the host
The day, the markets ... died
"And they were singing"
Fly, Fly, let our stocks reach the sky
You drove us crazy, made us hazy
I no longer get high
Them good ole boys dropped a tear as they lie
Singing this will be the day that we fly!
"This will be the day that we sigh"
They were singing .. buy, buy while the market is dry
Drove my chevy to the levy but the levy was dry
Them Wall Street boys, are they ready to buy
"Singing ... this will be the day that we fly"
