Rumors are beginning to circulate in VA that our former governor and very popular guy* Mark Warner (D) might challenge Sen John Warner (R) next year for his Senate seat. Sen Warner turned 80yrs old in February and may decide not to make the run in '08. If Warner decides not to run, the Reps might tap Congressman Tom Davis from Fairfax, VA for the race.
Mark Warner is more well known state-wide than Tom Davis and this campaign would get MAJOR attention from the Dem party.
Davis is reportedly very effective at raising money.

*Mark Warner left office with a 70% approval rating.
