I'm suspicious enough to suspect that that may be a head fake, to try and encourage buying in the stock.

But why do they want to encourage buying of the stock? Is there an interested buyer? Are they trying to raise money for a RM? Trying to create motion in the stock to make it more interesting to an merger candidate??

Not sure.
