I'm not sure how to 'begin by looking at chart patterns' - I don't have a good way to scan for that.

I run scans based on Technical Indicators: low-priced stocks breaking out on worthwhile $dollar-traded volume. I use a small handful of scans to do this.

THEN, I cull the list using my eyeballs, according to recent chart-pattern, and type of 'breakout candle'.

I merge them into an existing chartlist using the TA lowtrade described here.
