To me these recent acquisitions look much more like the annual grants that happen free of charge. Not only because everyone mostly got the same amount but also looking at the transaction code.

Look at the CEO's Form 4 filing:

An actual purchase would be transaction code P and not code A, see here:

The only thing debatable is why they put a price other than zero in there. Perhaps to make it look like purchases to all the robot data miners that post to StockTwits etc.? In previous years the awards were always filed with a price of zero.
