Many people on this board don’t even remember 99-01.
Interestingly, like these tickers, very few of the dot com stocks were even profitable at that time (I’m not talking about MSFT or INTC or CSCO I mean stocks that represented internet website based companies)
Many people tried the ad based revenue model and failed, in fact, until GOOG every single company based on the ad based revenue model failed.
Some of them are still around as shells of their former selves, aol, looksmart. Few survived. Much like OTC it was all hype and buzzwords, no real revenues. The companies went public for “access to capital” (dilution), enriched insiders and flippers, and failed.
