Personally, I'm forgiving and understanding.

But I know this isn't how cutthroat business operates.

If I was in charge. I would craft the agreement to forgive all past infringement royalties in exchange for a co-operative and permanent licensing agreement. Capture revenue and move on asap.

This opens the door for other companies to fall in line. And creates less tension. Remember the goal is not to fight but to work together for the better of all.
