Boeing Company (BA)

One valid reason for Boeing to split is that BA at $290 is dominating the Dow Industrial average which is price weighted. OTOH the S&P 500 is capitalization weighted which means the most gigantic firms count more than the smallest. Should BA worry about that? I don't know.

Clearly splits are out of style. To some extent you can credit/blame Buffett for that.

I have to admit that I like the snob appeal of owning high priced shares, such BA, MMM, TRV and several others. I definitely advise against stocks under $5 which tend to be scammy and poor investments in tough markets.
