Holy smokes!
A local butcher makes really tasty meat sticks out of venison, and has an extremely good business. They package them in small snack sized sticks, similar to a Slim Jim.
I finished de-boning the deer in my garage last week, and took it to them for processing. The price they charge for BBQ sticks is $6 per pd, and Jalapeno and cheese sticks are 6.25 per pd. I had 50 pounds of deer, so I went with 40 pds of bbq, and 10 pds of J&C.
When a person takes in deer, they add 1/3 of a pd of pork for every pound of deer when they process it. Instead of paying for 50 pounds, I'm paying for 65 pounds of sticks. It's going to end up costing me $393, and I provided the deer! They better be good.
