The issue with hosting tournaments is that the developers put so many restrictions on the host that it makes it nearly impossible to make any real money doing it. Yet, it costs a significant amount of money to develop the website, server and pay moderators in order to run the tournaments.

Before new management took over, GMER was losing $85,000 a month. Now, it looks like they are moving in a direction where the top priority is turning a profit.
