I was wondering the same thing. From what I understand as far as the logistics go, the 'cover' charge is added to the check instead of paying at the door. I think this is best way to handle it.

As far as paying the cover itself, if you think about other entertainment venues ..movies, escape room type venues, comedy club, dave & busters, etc. you pay a lot more at those places. For example, when I bring my kids to dave & busters they each rip through $20 in about an hour. At Snakes you pay $6 or $8 to play as long as you want.
