Count Drew Brees on the ever-growing list of NFL players against Thursday Night Football.

After losing several teammates and seeing others hobbled by ongoing injuries throughout Thursday's loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the New Orleans Saints quarterback knew exactly what was at fault for the increased ailments that helped determine the outcome.

"It's one hundred percent a product of playing on Thursday night," said Brees, according to Josh Katzenstein of the Times-Picayune after the loss. "Do you understand what guys' bodies go through in a game? And then to have to turn around four days later and to play?

"Is this smart as it pertains to guys’ health and safety? No, absolutely not."

Brees lost his star rookie running back Alvin Kamara on the first play of the game due to a concussion and dealt with veteran contributors Michael Thomas and Mark Ingram needing to leave the field for treatment on several occasions. Rookie cornerback Marshon Lattimore needed multiple oxygen breaks throughout the contest as well.
