I don't know how much anatabine is in a cigarette, but the effective dosage from smoking a cigarette is about 1/3 mg. It's why they set the dosage on CigRx to 1/3 mg to mimic smoking a cigarette. In fact when they want to test someone to see if they've been smoking cigarettes, they don't test them for nicotine. They test their urine for anatabine. Something about it's easier to and more reliable.

If there was a food source for anatabine, we would all be eating it. And the FDA couldn't have said boo about anatabine even if it is being used as a drug. It would already be considered in the food supply. Jonnie looked. He did extensive research into finding a food source of it. There was nothing that had more than trace amounts and required pounds and pounds to get an effective dose.

This isn't to say that green salsa isn't good for you and may have other substances in it that is therapeutic or even some how enhances anatabines effect. I've never researched it.
