Musk blamed the battery production bottleneck on the robots assembling the individual battery cells into a completed battery pack. Assembly had to be done by hand resulting 250 model 3s instead of 1500. Meanwhile hundreds of Power Wall battery packs using the same battery cells were shipped to Puerto Rico and more are expected to be shipped out to continue helping Puerto Rico. This was done in November and again model 3 production was way behind. Is a bigger part of the bottleneck due to Musk being compelled to help Puerto Rico?
I think that wanting to help Puerto Rico is commendable, but maybe Panasonic and Tesla's stock would be higher if investors thought that the battery packs did't have as major of a problem as the 350 instead of 1500 model 3 production would seem to indicate.
