I had actually bought some of the April $7.50 Calls a few weeks ago hoping for a quick flip going into 2018 (still do). At that time, there were no other strike dates past April available. I knew, however, there would be eventually, and I really wanted those for the very reasons you stated. July works out perfect for the top-line results to be released 1H of 2018. Those July Calls only became available two weeks ago- been bidding on them every day without luck until the big buy yesterday.
