Detroit's bid to land an MLS franchise has been chosen — along with bids from three other cities — for presentation to the league's expansion committee Dec. 6 in New York. Eight days later, on Dec. 14, the MLS board of governors will meet and discuss expansion with a goal of awarding two franchises for 2020 by the end of the year. Detroit is competing against bids from Cincinnati, Nashville and Sacramento.
