Solar panels make DC power, a conventional system strings all the high amp DC to a main central inverter. From there the you take the DC from the panel convert to usable grid AC power and blast it into your home power panel. Micro inverters convert the panels DC power to usable grid AC power right at the panel. The ac power is very low amps compare to conventional systems so there is only one run wires from panel box to solar system. The micro inverters will power track the inverter output but this is not necessary for the system to run. A solar panel with a micro inverter could be pluged right into your 220V home dryer line and work perfect. Hence the phrase plug n play.


There is some new home battery stuff going on here Im still trying to get a feel for all that.
