My feelings toward service grow more and more mixed.
The article says when he came back, his marriage fell apart.
The bottom line says he's a country boy at heart.

He wants a pair of cowboy boots and wranglers and a truck.

Sounds like a basic, easy-going, good guy. Hate to think about what he went through when he served. Getting involved in these third world shit-hole skirmishes are a phenomenal waste of our good men and women. There are too many stories of psychologically broken men (I lived with one) after they came back. The men of WWI and WWII were quieter about it. And my experience is that the worse they saw the less they wanted to remember. No blah, blah, blah about camaraderie yap, yap, yap. And then there are the brave supporters of our servicemen/women who weren't about to enlist.

At least that's how I feel tonight.
Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I'll close with Phil Ochs... "It's always the old to lead us to the wars.
It's always the young to fall."
