This homeless hero could soon be a homeowner.

A fundraising campaign for the kind-hearted homeless vet who spent his last $20 on gas for a stranded motorist has raised more than $328,000 — and counting.

“WOW!! I was kind of hoping I would wake up and things would’ve slowed down a bit… guess not you guys are amazing!” Kate McClure, who started the GoFundMe campaign with her boyfriend earlier this month, tweeted Friday.

McClure ran out of gas on I-95 one night last month as she was driving to Philadelphia — and ex-Marine Johnny Bobbitt Jr. came to her rescue.

Bobbitt, who’s been homeless for the last year and a half, told her to get back in her car and lock the doors.

He then forked over the last $20 in his pocket to buy her gas.

“It’s just not a safe area for anyone,” Bobbitt told the BBC in a radio interview.

“She just seemed like she needed help. People help me everyday, so when I have an opportunity to help someone else… You know it’s the right thing to do.”

McClure, 27, and her boyfriend Mark D’Amico, 38, started the campaign for Bobbitt with the goal of raising $10,000 — a target they quickly surpassed when their fundraiser went viral.

In less than two weeks, more than 11,500 people from around the world have pitched in to help Bobbitt get back on his feet.

“To be honest, I’m just blown away by it,” he said. “It’s all happened so fast. I’m getting a second chance at life.”

Bobbitt, McClure and D’Amico intend to sit down with a financial advisor and lawyer next week.

“He plans on donating a large portion [of the money] to causes that are close to his heart,” D’Amico told the Philadelphia Inquirer.

That includes a program for homeless veterans and “a few organizations that helped him the last year or two,” he added.

McClure tweeted out a photo of Bobbitt getting a haircut on Friday with the hashtag “#fresh” — and wrote in a post on GoFundMe that the North Carolina native will soon share exactly how he intends to spend the windfall of cash.

“To the thousands of people who took the time to write something nice directed towards Johnny.. believe me, he is seeing all of it and you have no idea how far your kind words are going!!” McClure wrote.

D’Amico told The Post earlier this week that when Bobbitt returned from his service in the Marine Corps, his marriage crumbled and he ended up leaving his home state to travel around the US.

He found a job in Philadelphia, but it ultimately fell through. At one point, Bobbitt was robbed during a stay in a homeless shelter, so he began living under a bridge.

“He’s a country boy,” D’Amico said. “He wants a pair of cowboy boots and wranglers and a truck.”
