I make hamburger soup a lot, mine is close to the recipe you posted except mine has frozen peas and canned pinto and kidney beans in it as well, and I don't use beef cullion, I use Au-Jus to punch up the beef flavor.

FWIW, I don't follow recipes, I consider them guideline when I do use one and I go for there.
