Intelligent Highway Solutions, Inc., a technology-based electrical contracting company, handles electrical installations, temperature control systems, communication and wireless integration, and advanced lighting systems for industrial applications. The company holds exclusive distribution rights to proprietary lighting solutions that help growers in the legal cannabis industry improve yields and reduce costs. The company is also developing proprietary wireless vehicle detection systems to address today’s transportation problems and make roadways more efficient.

Devon Jones and Philip Kirkland founded the company after years of working in the transportation industry. For five years, Jones and Kirkland worked together as independent electrical contractors on multiple contracts within the transportation sector, including the pulling of fiber optic cable, installation of video equipment, and service, maintenance and installation of traffic operations systems for Caltrans. Eventually, the two men chose to combine their talents and contacts and to form a new company that would grow beyond a service-based business and bring new technology to the transportation market. In April 2011, Kirkland and Jones re-structured their operations under Intelligent Highway Solutions, Inc.
