thanks for sharing your plan. On the first point -- that the loss won't be treated as a wash sale -- is it because of the timeframe of greater than 30 days between the 2 transactions, or because of special treatment when shares are cancelled due to a buyout?



I believe that that as long as you make sure that the date you purchase OCRX shares and the date you receive the payment for your shares to be acquired by the buyer (for the shares to be canceled) is more than 30 days then the transaction should not be under wash sale. I'm unaware of any exception or special treatment to be applied in case of acquisition/merger.
