Another deadline we will be keeping an eye on is the one set by the Players Association for resolution of the international transfer rule. The news was not good this morning.

Shohei Ohtani’s move to @MLB in 2018 is not certain to happen. Source says there was no progress last night (Eastern time) in posting system negotiations, regarding MLBPA’s concerns. It’s now after midnight in Tokyo, less than 10 hours to deadline. @MLBNetwork

The deadline that has been imposed by the Players Association for an agreement to be reached between MLB and the Japanese NPB for a new posting agreement has been extended 24 hours. The new deadline is Tuesday at 5 p.m.
