There's absolutely no indication in his daily report that he intends to misrepresent the data. He simply uses it as the basis for his calculation.

I think the data is useless, but can't justify complaining about the way he presents it. You are not the arbiter of "the correct way to reference something followed by a source" and to limit others with your personal methodology ("I would quote exactly what's in the source and follow with a link.") seems pretty narrow minded.

If I was to report a company's income, the number of shares it reported as outstanding and its share price, would you complain if I calculated its P/E?

You just don't like the data. Complaining that he does a little arithmetic with it rings hollow as a complaint.
