It can be a hard thing for a shareholder to accept...that management cares less about them than they care about management. I'm reminded of a signature line used by an old Ihub buddy:

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something, when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."

In this case I believe the thing is understood...it just doesn't feel very good.
