More education........ People here on this board is complaining about "Renting out the cows" to a dairy farm. This is called smart business. To have a milking operation of say 100 cows is going to cost you around $150K-$250K for the milking machines, separation unit, cooling vats, piping, etc. That is not even mentioning the contracts that you need to put into place to sell the milk. Now let's talk about buying the farm you are complaining that you want done. Do you understand the EPA standards that a dairy farm has to follow and report on to the Federal Govt and the State of WA? How about the cost of the farm? My guess is that you are NOT going to get acreage in WA for say $100 an acre. So with all of this said I bet you can see over $500K+ just to get what you want. Then would you complain about them spending useless money on all of this.
