Mr. HogHead, I will try to give you the closest WHOLESALE Btu /Btu; Kwh/Kwh Apples to Apples comparison that is possible. Note that fuel prices do change and there are several different Nat gas generators, but for a brand new RFP answering comparison:

Natural gas at $4.00/mmbtu in a large frame generator = $0.051 per kwh

Natural gas at $3.00/mmbtu in a large frame generator = $0.038 per kwh

Natural gas at today's $3.00 in a PowerSite gas generator = $0.025 per kwh

A FCEL Fuel Cell generator arccording to Chip Bottone = $0.14-$0.15 per kwh

The only application a fuel cell might make sense is as a standy by, back-up power generator, but even in this scenario, natural gas is still much more economic.
