Huron Industrial Business Park Available Land
State Route 269 (Lassen Avenue through the City) and State Route 198 connect to Interstate 5 (I-5) and State Routes 43, 41 and 99. To capitalize on its location, the City purchased land along State Route 269 near the northern edge of town to develop as a “shovel ready” commercial and industrial park site. This site is exceptional in that it is within 5 miles of State Route 198 and 15 miles of I-5.
Available sites are rough graded and ready with water, sewer, storm drainage, major street improvements (fire hydrants, street lights, sidewalks, and street trees), gas and electrical service conduits ready for service extensions. A range of parcel sizes are available and City can adjust the lot sizes within reason to meet client needs.
Huron has created the “Targeted Approval” Team for priority projects, especially in the Industrial Business Park area. The Targeted Approval Team consists of the City Manager, Planning staff, City Engineer, and Public Works staff that can make binding decisions at the staff level for projects. The Team Captains are the Planning Commission and the City Council who are poised to meet in “Special Meetings” to ensure rapid project approval. Developers/Builders meeting with the Targeted Approval Team bring preliminary plans for a round table review and leave with a checklist of changes to be made and a schedule for approval. The Targeted Approval Team are problem solvers and consider more than one final project design submission a failure on their part. “Can do” is not the motto; it is “Will Do!”
