I would conclude that auditors were the ones that informed him that they were 99%. Think about it, how would Roger know if the auditors are the ones doing the job and AMFE is just providing what they are asking for in the process.

IMO, the auditors are in the driver's seat on this one, not AMFE, so they are the ones that know and most likely informed Roger about the 99% figure.
