I saw some gold prospectors in Alaska Youtubes. They had a relatively simple gas suction/sluce setup (two man) and they recovered an ounce or two of gold for about 4 hours work. Nothing at all fancy or complicated.
There is GOLD in the Pampana River/shores.
You don't need a dredge -- just a suction hose and a body or two.

What is so hard about this? 10 suction hose setups and probably 20 ounces of gold per day and kick in a few 2 carat diamonds now and then.
I don't get it at all. 20 ounces of gold x 26 weeks = GOOD PROFIT

Next season double the number of hoses, etc...
once in a while find a 5 carat diamond or two.
