I've never used any of the leveraged ones, but have long history with the index biotech ETFs. I'm currently using FBT as an AIM holding and have for a couple of years.
Not a lot of excitement, but pretty steady growth so far. I used IBB for a long time before that and had also used PBE for a while. All were non-leveraged ETFs.
On a one year basis, the leveraged BIB looks rather interesting (scary?). http://stockcharts.com/freecharts/perf.php?BIB,FBT Stretch the axis to two years and it is quite a different story as early 2016 really beat up on it. Three years of comparison looks more interesting again, but certainly shows the need for deep pockets when corrections come along. Same with the 5 year comparison.
