Knowing insider information is not a crime.Trading based on insider information is a crime.
If there's material change then company has 5days or so to make it public.I don't remember exact days.If materail change doesn't become public information then company is in trouble with SEC.Never heard of a CEO fined because someone else made insider information public.
Big question is do you believe what's posted on a message board?
