Does anyone know if we can use this loss in IMSC this year or NEXT? I am doing some tax planning and kinda need to know if I sell some big gains this year or NEXT yr so I can offset some GAINS with this LOSS in IMSC.

Q: Do we need to wait until we get our scraps from the sale of IMSC or since it is UN-tradable now can we write if off for 1017 taxes.

Q: OR can we wait for next year if it is not settled until after Jan 1 2018.

I would prefer to take the loss next year.. I could use the write off but been to sell some long term gain to off set this long term loss.

I am a simple Turbo Tax user. I prefer NOT to have to hire an Enrolled Agent to get some answers.
