I have read this message last week and have been thinking about it. I honestly do think you're right.

I was in Quality Assurance and I wouldn't pass anything off until a job was completely done and it could be passed right at the last minute prior to shipping.

It is possible that everything is up to par and Tony didn't want to complete the audit until right up to the closing of the deal to include all transaction, to prove to the world that this is the real thing.

It's all about Tax write off, and an audit would allow that.
