So you think master farmer Lee isn't smart enough to transplant?

The old guy growing hemp in green houses will be disappointed, unless of course he’s an actor set up and paid for by Bruce. 4000 plants in those small pots would be lucky to do 1/2 pound each, more likely closer to a 1/4 pound

Video: here
He's running 18/6. These plants are no where near finished. He even stated in the video that they started in 4 inch pots... They have obviously been transplanted to bigger pots since he started growing them and I bet they get transplanted again. I don't think you can accurately guestimate the weight of the finished plant this early. How much longer will he be vegetating these plants before inducing flowering?

It is my theory that some of these indoor grows are focused on spring replanting, not processing quite yet. You see, you can start your cannabis plants indoors during the winter and, as long as weather permits you, an replant them outdoors as early as March and sometimes February.

This allows farmers to put mature plants in the ground (or outdoor in general) while the daylight hours are still short. Now, at this point, these 4000 clones, or "props", will be going from long daylight (18/6) to short daylight which will induce flowering very early in the growing season. By the time longer days come the plant will be too far along in flowering to reverse to vegetation, and so you get a nice early harvest.

Then, during this early harvest, what some cannabis growers will do is harvest only the buds and leave the plant, with some leaves, in the ground. With longer daylight and no more buds these plants will revert back to vegetation.. but now they already have substantial roots and an uptake nutrients and grow at a much faster rate. Then we meet back again in October for a second, even bigger harvest.

Now some farmers may not wanna swing that early... That's fine. Farmer Lee here can keep his 4000 plants on 18/6 and transplant them outdoor during late April or may when seeds are being planted. Still puts him ahead of the game... He's now got mature plants when others have just started seedlings. They will grow bigger and faster than the seedlings and they will produce more.

Congrats! Farmer Lee just turned "1/4 lb" plants into 10lb+ plants.

Needless to say, even if you don't go with either of these methods, you can still get multiple harvest per year. You see how cannabis is growing in marijuana friendly states? Perpetual, perpetual, perpetual.
You don't think the hemp portion of the cannabis industry will follow suit?

Cheers
