I have one portfolio of just 10 individual stocks. Each is AIM'd as a separate engine and I keep the total as a portfolio. I've had better years since starting this activity again. It's up modestly so far year-to-date.

The thing with just 10 stocks is that if one is significantly out of favor, the group looks unhealthy - even with most of the rest doing okay.

It's a lot more fun to just discuss the biggest gainers! As the last 12 months have played out, I've dropped some stocks and added others. It's been very hard to find new investments that look like they have reasonable 3-5 year potential. It seems most everything is rather fully valued.

So, I've gone with higher dividend paying stocks as replacements during the last year. I've been keeping a list of prospective holdings with alarms set at their 52 week highs and lows. Hardly anything triggers new lows these days.

In the mean time the portfolio is doing okay with some stocks relatively fully invested and others swollen with cash.
