Agree there is HUGE RISK as a perfect example is SLLTF, which wasn't successful in identifying the amount of lithium needed to be commercial viable - see link below. This caused their stock to hit rock bottom. Only time will tell if we are sitting on a successful company or not, but that is the chance you take when you invest in an emerging company. I know I am assuming risk and am willing to take that chance.
