Maybe it would have been more appropriate for me to say opinions don’t “nullify” the law, as that was my intent. Maybe we will see the day in the near future where marijuana is legalized at the federal level, but that day hasn’t come yet. Therefore, to buy cryptocurrency being marketed as drug-friendly and procuring drugs is illegal and you will go to jail for it. That is why the average person won’t touch it. And it’s not just marijuana by the way. People use the deep web and crypto-tokens to buy even heavy narcotics, illegal weapons, prostitutes, etc. Cryptocurrency overall doesn’t have the best rep, and the media frenzy over these isolated incidents have made the average person wary of this new trend. I see the value in it, and think it’s brilliant personally. But there’s going to have to be a major paradigm shift before people by and large will trust cryptocurrency implicitly.
