They are upgrading their feeds and you can't sell someone a channel while it's down.

I also suspect, based on what I would do, that they are revamping the structure and price, possibly negotiating the feeds from a different source.

I can't imagine why someone would pay double what hbo costs, to not get hbogo only the live stream... They also provide cinemax and showtime, but I don't believe that adds much excitement... so they need to do something... maybe $10 each, someone may save $5 (compared to $15 full direct price) in exchange for a live-only hbo without on demand.
