Oct. 11--I walked home with two grocery bags of mustard greens and an arm full of collards.
Two of the four buckeye seeds germinated where I planted them on the slope outside the fence along North Tryon St. They have palmate leaves. Now about 3 inches high. I will place a rock ring around each one and add mulch inside the ring.
CC the Calico Cat was a in better mood today. She came out for a visit in the early afternoon and later before I left for home. She spent at least 15 minutes "marking" me. Little Rico, meanwhile, keeps his distance when she is at the feeding station. But she doesn't make any threatening body movements. He needs to let her know he's friendly. It's as much up to him as it is up to CC.
