Im pretty sure all of us learned the "Golden Rule" when we were very young at school...or...maybe at home. But what some folks may not know is that it actually is scripture from the Bible. In Matthew 7:12 we are told...“Do to others whatever you would like them to do to you. This is the essence of all that is taught in the law and the prophets"....So lets think on that for a moment. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. How awesome is that...and...how easy should that be to do? Here we as children whatever years ago...even outside the home and church...someone..somewhere...thought this important enough to teach it to us because of the truth in these simple words could have such a impact on our lives...if we were to actually live by them. So my thought...what if...everyone lived by this scripture every breath of everyday....i mean...how hard is it? What if everyday we humans treated everyone the same way we want to be treated. We talked to everyone the way we want to be talked to. We done for everyone the way we want to be done for and helped the same way we want to be helped...and most importantly...loved people the way we want to be loved! What a different world...what a different United States this would be. And to go a step further...what if we as believers lived this way everyday even though we knew we were NOT going to be treated the same in return...i mean...should that matter...that i treat you with honor and respect and the love of Jesus even though i know you have little or no regard for me as a person? Remember...Jesus never said as believers that we should expect to win a popularity contest...He did say just the opposite that the world will hate us just as it hated Him. So my brothers and sisters in Christ...remember this...we are to love everyone be they like us or not...because...we are set apart from this lost and dying world and our heart is also the heart of Jesus and Jesus loves everyone! Think about it.
