I don’t know enough about the technology in general or specifically what technology is being proposed to have an opinion. I’m just dubious about the idea that you can usefully zoom in to a picture on an iPad in the manner that seems to be described on the website.

It reminds me a little of an argument I once had about medical imaging and remote surgery on Mars using earthbound surgeons and Martian robots. Information loss and the speed of light posed insurmountable problems that could not be addressed by special effects in slick demos, I thought.
